From the calanques to the cap d'Antibes

    Beach break

Renowned for their beauty, the beaches of the Côte d'Azur are also known for the crowds they attract in high summer. So if you have the choice, take advantage of the months of June or September to make your trip. From the deep coastal inlets of the calanques along the Côte Bleue to the beaches of Cap d'Antibes, head off for some small corners of paradise hidden between rocks and the turquoise sea. Les Trayas, la Mala, Sylvabelle, Almanarre, all names imbued with the sense of warm sand and the Mediterranean breeze. All you have to do is spread out your towel and have a dip (or a nap).

Where to sleep : at the hotelF1 in Marseille, La Valette-du-Var (close to Toulon and Hyères), Roquebrunes sur Argens (near Fréjus, between La Croix-Valmer and Agay), Vallauris (between Théoule-sur-Mer and Cap d'Antibes).

    Tips :
    • Take the boat out to Île des Embiez and watch the sun go down as you drink a toast over the grave of Paul Ricard.
    • Stop for a few games of pétanque in Marseille, on the esplanade du J4, and enjoy the incomparable view over the sea, the MuCEM, the Villa Méditerranée and the Cathédrale de la Major.
